Vroom.Vroom

Hudson loves the vacuum cleaner, he has loved since he was quite little, he also likes to clean! (let’s hope this never goes away!) This is Hudson the other day, helping Bryan vacuum.

I also found this in a catalog the other day: a mini dyson that actually works! Good thing Christmas is right around the corner, and at $29.95 it might be the only Dyson we will ever own..

Superhero Sasquatch

Sasquatch is our nickname for Hudson… so we thought it would make the perfect Halloween costume:

life’s not so rosy.

Hudson has Roseola. He came down with a 102.5 fever on Friday afternoon, I took him in to see the doctor (since it was the weekend) and he could find nothing wrong with him. We were able to keep his fever under control, however he woke up from his nap on Saturday with a rash on his face, neck and back. I freaked out, so we took him to urgent care. They diagnosed it as a viral rash, and not to be too concerned, just keep him comfortable. Sunday morning he woke up and the rash had gotten worse and had spread to his stomach. I freaked out again, and called Dr. Bebee. He immediatley diagnosed him with Roseola. And so now we wait…his fever is gone and we just wait for the rash to go away (usually takes 2-3 days)IMG_0412

15 month check-up!

We went to Dr. Beebe this week for Hudson’s 15 month check-up. He weighed in at 23lbs and 31inches long. Dr. Beebe even said, “Wow, he’s tall!” He said everything looked great, he got his chicken pox and his MMR, and so far so good with no reactions. (I am a little freaked out about it, but let’s not go there)

Vacation. Part 2

This week Bryan and I have been on vacation! We went to Palm Springs for the first half and now we are enjoying a staycation at home with our little man. We have been enjoying spending time together (especially the mornings) and working on some projects around the house.

Left or right?

We bought Hudson a box of crayons this weekend. 24 wonderful colors that kept our little man intrigued for quite some time.

Live Simply

We took a mid week trip to Disneyland this week, in an effort to escape the heat and do something different. We only went on one ride; Peter Pan (Hudson’s first time) and Hudson ate dinner at the Pizza Port, well looked at his dinner (he wasn’t into the hockey puck pizza we ordered him).

Hudson had decided against an afternoon nap, so he was a bit tired.  It’s kind of fun to see his serious side….

A [hot] day at the zoo.

A couple of weeks ago we went to the San Diego Zoo! It was a little too hot, but we did the best we could.

the flamingos were Hudson’s favorite. {maybe because they were one of the few animals actually visible on that hot day}

We took a bus tour of the zoo, we failed to realize it was 40min with no stops. Way too long for our little man..

Hume Lake

I can’t believe it has been a month since the last post. Ugh. Sometimes blogging is exhausting.

This past weekend we went to Hume Lake with our friends the Eldridges. (Brent was the speaker for the weekend and they were kind enough to ask us to tag along) We had a blast!

Bryan and I both grew up going to Hume Lake, so it was pretty special to be there as a family. I just kept thinking about all the amazing memories I have of Hume and the amazing memories that Hudson will make some day.

We also got to have lunch with my cousin Nathan and his girlfriend Jocey (they work up at Hume Lake!)

Musical Chairs and Peek-a-boo barn

I picked up this little white chair at Target (50% summer stuff), and I was surprised how much he loves it! I think he feels like a big boy in it! (and I love it because he can’t get down from it on his own yet… so he stays put and buys me enough time to make him some dinner!)

On another note..

Hudson is now walking! He has been taking steps for a while , but now he is taking 10-15 steps at a time. He still prefers crawling, but any day now I think we see him running down the hall!

One more note..

Hudson has loved our iphones since he was very little, any chance he gets to get his little hands on one he will. I have recently put this fascination to good use! Did you know there are so many great app’s for little ones? Hudson’s favorite is Peekabo Barn

Picture 1

‘Inside a little bouncing barn, friendly farm animals are waiting to pop out and surprise your little one. Try and guess who they are; tap the doors to find out!’

Hudson actually taps the phone and makes the animals come out! (it is a great way to ‘buy some time’!) Thank you app store. Keep em coming!!

On the road again…

This little jeep was Hudson’s ‘big’ birthday present from us (I got it on super clearance at the Babystyle going out of business sale!) He isn’t quite tall enough yet to be able to sit and walk it himself but he loves it none the less.

(and in case you were wondering..these pictures are pre-surgery, his eye looks 100% better and the doctor deemed it a success! We don’t have to see the eye doctor for 2 years!) PTL!!

The 5 minute Surgery

Hudson’s eye surgery went very well. The actual ’surgery’ part only took 5 min, and he was only ‘under’ for about 25 min. He woke up happy and the doctor was pleased with the way it went! He has been a bit swollen and there is still a little bit of discharge but they did say it could take about a week to fully see the results! Thank you for all your prayers!!

How cute are these little hospital pajamas?DSC_0084

They have to mark the eye with a marker so that they operate on the correct one!DSC_0085

3 cheers for the Red, White and Blue

This year’s forth of July was bittersweet. Bryan had to work up in Montery at Laguna Seca (a moto GP race), so it was just me and Hudson. We crashed a couple of parties and enjoyed watching the fireworks in our ‘backyard’.
